Wood stove prices can really run the gamut from cheap to very expensive. Paying more doesn't necessarily mean a better value. Costs can also very quite a bit from seller to seller.

From a bottom line brand new perspective, the cheapest types of wood heaters are usually the boxwood variety. You can find these starting under $200.

Full-sized steel and cast iron stoves will start from about $500 or so on the very low end to over $3000 on the high end. Pellet stoves tend to run a little bit higher because of the electronics and additional mechanical systems used in its operation. You'll also have to factor in things like installation, liners, and accessories. Installation and delivery can go from about $250 to up over $1000 depending on the complexity of your install. I'd say a good middle ground price for that would be around $600.

Online vendors can sometimes be a good option, even with the shipping costs. You can also sometimes partner with a local store to do the install once it arrives.
