Lopi Republic

The Lopi Republic is a solid log burning option without a lot of frills. There are two main models for it, the 1250 and the 1750. They come in both a freestanding and an insert model, with the inserts designated with an i. The big difference is in the size and heating capacity. The 1250 will rate to heat up to 1200 sq.ft and burn 8 hours, while the 1750 is rated to heat up to 2000 sq ft and burn 10 hours. Both of these numbers are fairly conservative though.

They are very reasonably priced. The 1750 will go for around $1800 with blower and trim if you can get a couple discounts, the 1250 for lower than that. Some may call it the economy model. The looks aren't flashy but it can fit in with most decors.

Key Features

Available with pedestal or legs

Ceramic brick firebox

Solid-steel construction

Advantages:

Both models provide very good heat and are fairly easy to install. Fires start without much issue. For the small size, the firebox is a good size and can easily handle 18 inch logs. It is very solidly built at the firebox level. The blower is very effective even on medium setting.

Disadvantages:

On high, the blower can be a little bit loud. It can be difficult to get the secondary burns going. As an "economy" model, the fixtures and parts may not be as high a quality. You may want to think about an upgrade of accessories such as the handles.
