Kent Wood StoveKent stoves was a popular brand back in the 1980s. Its was sold as the Kent Tile Fire and was based out of New Zealand. At the time, there were no popular non-catalytic stove models that met the new stringent EPA emission requirements. New Zealand's stove makers were already ahead of the game with the Tile Fire. In addition to the emissions savings, the stoves also had a unique look with its tiles and ceramic porcelain. These could also be customized by the buyer. The Tile Fire was the the top of the line model, with the Sherwood being the cheaper version that did not have the tile and porcelain features. There was also an insert available, the Log Fire. This could also be customized with either porcelain, steel, or iron finishes. The last big model introduction was the Ultima. This featured a ceramic liner in the firebox where the bricks would go, contributing to its super low emissions (and higher price!). This model lineup was in place until 1990. Pricotech then purchased the brand, and continue to make Kent branded stoves. One of the more popular current models is the Kent Rosebay. We've heard remarks that this is a great heater up to 2000 sq. ft and it features a great bay window. The importer will be stopping shipment of these soon, so grab one soon if you are interested.
