Elmira Stove Works

Elmira Stove Works was a strong producer of woodstoves, but have recently stopped. They are based in Elmira, Ontario and have been producing wood heating products for almost 40 years. Their appeal was often in its old-time, "low tech" designs. They were a key supplier to the Mennonites and Amish there because of their simple approach. A decade after founding, the company branched out into other forms of fuel heating, including electric and gas.

Recently, the company stopped producing woodstoves. However, they are still producing its trademake wood cookstoves, just not the heaters. This causes some confusion with customers. Since the cookstove is its bread and butter, it was better served there. There latest model, the Fireview, was a traditional wood fueled cooker.

Elmira still produces the gas Northstar range products. They also have a cool feature on their website where you can design and price your own antique-style stoves and oven for your house. They're not cheap, but its and interesting exercise nonetheless.
