Wood Stove Design

Wood stove design is something that many new entrants to the wood home heating world are curious about. Today, wood stoves are going into more and more houses and interior decorators like to consider all different types.

Boxwood stove - As the name suggests, its a long boxy look with a door in front for loading. They often have a cook spot on top. Good for smaller spaces or cabins.

Pot Belly Wood Stove - This definitely is a more old-fashioned look. These cast iron heaters were very popular in the 1800s and the turn of the century. Great for giving your space that antique look.

Steel - This has become the most popular type of design. Steel is much easier than iron for manufacturers to work with and can be built into many different designs. Most of these designs are the simple firebox with a front loading door

Contemporary - These are often steel stoves with a modern twist on their design. They may be tall and thin, or very angular. These are sleeker looking than the boxier models and are meant for high-end homes (and have high-end prices!)
