Warnock Hersey Wood Stove

Warnock Hersey Stoves aren't a true brand. Rather, it is a mark of certification. Think of it as something similar to an electrical device that is UL-listed. It means its been safety tested and approved.

A company called Intertek is the organization behing the ratings. The Warnock Hersey mark, or WH Mark, means that its been fully tested to comply with local safety standards and codes. WH Marks extend far beyond hearth and heating products to many other construction and infrastructure items.

What this means for you is if your stove has the WH mark, then it is fully accredited from Intertek and has been tested to conform with all of the guidelines above. Where the confusion often lies is that consumers see the Warnock Hersey mark and assume that is the brand, especially if its an older unit where the labeling may have faded. You need to check closer and find the maker and model number. The WH mark is definitely a good thing to have though.
