Thelin Gnome

The Thelin Gnome is a small, really small, pellet heater that’s ideal for a very small cabin.  Since its release back in the early 1990s, its been a hit in the mobile/small home community.

It’s hard to compare this to other mainstream pellet heaters because of its size.  The closest is probably the Enviro Mini in terms of dimensions.   Its really a space heater and its good for a SMALL cabin or mobile home.  More than that, and you’ll want an upgrade.  Its rated up to 750 Sq. ft.  The hopper is only 23 lbs of capacity so you’re going to be refilling it often.  Definitely make sure they’re allowed in your mobile home’s jurisdiction before installing them there though.

PROS
It does have a lot of big heater features such as electronic ignition and an optional thermostat.  It has a backup battery system with the stove.  Its small, under three feet tall, and come in a wide variety of colors.  It also has an effective self-cleaning feature.  Long time owners rave about the reliability.

CONS
For their size, they can be a little bit pricy.  They go for around $2000, which is quite a bit for a space heater.  Used ones can be for a good discount, usually around $1000, but they tend to get snapped up quick.

If you’re looking for a reliable small pellet stove, and can spare the extra cash, this is highly recommended.
