Pacific Energy Stoves

Pacific Energy Stoves is a Canadian based heating system manufacturer. They were founded in Vancouver, hense the name. They have had many innovations to stoves over the years, including self-cleaning Vycor glass. They also had the first floating firebox, and introduce the spring-loaded ash drawer. Another big selling point with these stoves is the limited lifetime warranty.

Here are some major model lines. Pacific Energy divides its stoves and inserts into small, medium and large segments. Note that most of these models are non-catalytic. The large Summit models are notable for their use of the patented Extended Clean Burn technology:
Vista (Small): These stoves are rated up to 1500 sq. ft. Stoves under this category are:

  • Vista Classic: A compact steel wood stove. Efficient, yet even rated for use in a mobile home.
  • Alderea T4: The smallest cast iron model. However, it has glass doors, spring loaded ashpan, and a built in cooking area.                  

Super (Medium): These stoves are rated from 1500 to 2000 sq.ft:

  • Alderlea T5: The medium sized cast iron model. Also has a convenient cooktop, as do all of the cast iron models.
  • Super 27, Spectrum, Super Step Top: All similar steel models with different decor. Available in pedestal and with legs.
  • The Fusion: Has European type, contemporary desigh

Summit (Large): These stoves are rated greater than 2000 sq. ft:

  • Summit insert: This has an extended burn technology, and is rated to burn up to 10 hours on one load.
  • Alderlea T6: The largest cast iron model in the Pacific Energy line.
  • Summit Classic: The largest steel model available, also has Extended burn technology as well.

Although lesser known than some American brands, Pacific Energy has many interesting innovations that make their stove worth a look!
