Napoleon 1400The Napoleon 1400 is a well-regarded wood heater and is the middle model in the line. It’s the big brother to the 1100, with a larger capacity and heating output. For a bigger capacity and heater, consider the 1900. Its fairly easy to start and throws off a good amount of heat. It keeps a strong fire going without a lot of issues. It will easily get up to the nine hours reported. It has a relatively sophisticated clean burn system which keeps it going. It also allows for smaller fires, so you won’t need those monsters to get the secondary burn going. Napoleon rates it to heat between 1000-2000 sq. ft. (I like the wide spread they give to be safe!) It been reported to easily heat up to 1800 sq. ft. Its also reasonably priced for the capacity. The blower is a good option to consider if you don’t have a another fan or circulation system in place. For a decent sized heater, it has a fairly small load door. This can constrict the log size it will handle diameter wise to about eight inches or so. It can handle up to 18 inches long. It also won’t win many points for beauty. Napoleon offers a lot of different trims and accessories for its stoves, but its like putting paint on a jalopy in many respects. The steel design with a cast iron wrapper may be good for heat, but it’s not pretty. The baffle operation can be a little confusing. For secondary burn, they should be pushed to the back setting.Wood Stove Parts Used Wood Stoves Wood Stove Reviews Pot Belly Stove Cast Iron Pellet Stove Firewood Chimneys Chiminea Wood Stove Pipe Wood Stove Blower Antique Wood Stove Wood Heater Wood Stove Steamers Aarrow Ashley Austroflamm Avalon Blaze King Breckwell Buck Century Dovre Drolet Dutchwest Fisher Harman Pellet Stoves Hearthstone Jotul Lopi Morso Napoleon Osburn Regency Soapstone Timberline US Stove Vermont Castings Vogelzang Whitfield Pellet Stove |
