Fisher Mama BearThe Fisher Mama Bear was the medium sized entry in their late 1970s heating lineup. It just between the Papa and the Baby. It'll hold logs up to 24 inches in size. I couldn't find the exact number of BTUs but several users commented on its ability to heat 2000 sq. ft. houses, which should be no problem as it was rated up to 10000 cu. feet. Like the Papa, it has a improved double air intake system to improve air flow. Like the other models, its a combination of iron and steel, with the body mainly steel and heavy iron doors. The dual air intakes help contribute to the good heat output. As with the rest of the Fishers, these are out of production. I generally see the Mama Bears on craigslist for $300 to $500 used, some with new firebrick and rehabbed doors.
