Enviro Meridian

General Review:

The Enviro Meridian is a tough insert and freestanding model that does well in the pellet heating realm.  Its generally gotten good reviews.

I’ve seen these go installed from about $2400 up to $3000.  Understand that the insert models will cost a little bit more.

Key Features

  • 45000 BTU
  • Big ashpan
  • Adjustable hopper
  • Remote capable
  • Thermostat capable

Advantages:

Heats more than 1200 sq. ft.  and can go up to 1500 sq. ft. with a couple people claiming up to 2000 sq. ft heated!  Seems a little high to me, but in any case it has good output.  It has a nice modern look and is available in a couple of nice metallic finishes.  It also has a very sophisticated thermostat system that is really a set and forget type thing.

Disadvantages:

Some noise from unit.
Hopper can be tricky to fill
Panel can be tough to remove
Flue outlet is difficult to clean
The pipe from the hopper can be in an awkward spot.

Final Thoughts:

It has excellent build quality, very few mechanical complaints overall.  The most common issue may be due to the noise on these.  While pellet stove blowers can be a little noisy, these have been known to get a little loud.  However, it may be that the plastic fan blade simply needs to be readjusted as it may have been knocked out of place.  Check that before call your serviceman.
